Bliss of Rest

Bliss of Rest

I call this photo “Bliss of Rest” as it was taken during a particularly strenuous walk with the collies through the snow-laden Vivian forest. The snow was deep to my knees (their shoulders) so we had been stomping and leaping through it to our exhaustion. For a moment we stopped to catch our collective breath and while I marvelled at the beauty around me I happened to look through a clearing to this lone tree. The striking azure blue of the sky in contrast to the stark whiteness of the snow; the framing of the winter-bare tree limbs in the foreground together offered an instant of bliss, albeit a cold one, during our hour of exertion. I captured the moment and took it home with me so I could relive it again … and share it with you.
