For the first time in 18 years I am without cat. Both of my kitties have passed away within the past 10 months, leaving me sad and missing their companionship.
While on a photo expedition at a local garden centre last week I was distracted, for a time, by the resident feline I found self-indulgently basking in the glow of impending motherhood.
Kitty was a willing subject, which made it easy for me to over-indulge the camera. I was only able to free myself of her alluring charm when she finally rose to vacate her throne — our mutual self-indulgent spell broken.
My short visit with Kitty has left my mind and heart are open to the possibility of adopting a couple of kittens. I wait, in earnest, for their arrival …
Thanks for visiting …
Dorothy 🙂

🙂 I adopted a kitten a few years ago. I highly recommend it… even if mine is a little bit crazy! She gives hugs, and that’s pretty fantastic for a cat!
Thanks for your comment. … It’s been 15 years since I had a kitten in the house. I know I can expect some mayhem for the first little while, especially as I acclimate the collies to the new family members. There are worse things … 😉 … Be well, Dorothy 🙂
Being without cat is no way to live…
I hear you … the house feels so empty. I always love saying “Good morning!” to them. They seem to understand. … BTW … Arm and Hammer has a bicarbonate of soda based pet smell “eraser.” We use it in the litter box to freshen things up after it’s been de-pooped. Makes a world of difference. … I’m following your blog now … Be well, Dorothy 🙂
That is a wonderful idea. Thanks! And thanks for following! I hope some furry kids find you soon!
I rescue cats as I found two Summers where Mamas dropped their babies in my garage. I neuter them then *attempt* to find homes. I’m sure somewhere out there is the perfect kitten (or pair of kittens) for you. And–it is kitten season right now!
Thanks, Amanda. I’m working with the vet, who often rescues kittens, and hope to hear from him some time soon. … I’m following your blog now as I, too, am a novice gardener and feel I might learn something from your insights. Since we had the garden re-landscaped last year there is a lot to do … Be well, Dorothy 🙂
