It’s been hot and humid this summer and the bugs are abundant and biting. My usual routine of applying fly repellant to Bear before turning him out in the paddock is only so effective against the winged blighters. Bear usually ends up taking matters into his own hands, as it were, engaging in a thorough mud bath to create his own “no fly zone.”
Needless to say I’ve learned that, during these hot summer months, it’s best to surrender the need for grooming perfection.
In the words of Mr. Ed … “A horse is a horse, of course, of course …”
