I was on a photography ramble in a local garden centre one afternoon last spring, surrounded by the vibrant colours and fragrances of the myriad floral varieties on display.

During my meanderings I came upon this glorious pink dahlia. It immediately brought to mind memories of my late grandmother tending her beautiful flower garden in small town northern Alberta. She was so proud of her garden.

So, rapt in the moment I stopped and “picked” it digitally.

I don’t know which I like better. Both are beautiful in their own way.
