Can you see her?
Not even a day old — new life, well camouflaged and cradled in her mother’s silken hair. Warm. Safe. Protected. Recovering, along with her seven other siblings, from an arduous journey into a new world where she will grow, be loved and provided with a good home.
Her mother is a Rough Collie. Attentive. Protective. Beautiful. One of the best I’ve seen. She loves her babies.
I watch. In fact, I could watch for hours. Mesmerized by the peace-filled ministrations of the nurturing mother.
There is nothing like the miracle of new life.
