This week’s photo challenge asks us to brighten our world with colour.
To me this bridge of time linking winter and spring is the dreariest of the year.
While we wait for the grass to turn green and the flowers to poke their noses through the still frozen ground, the world about me is cast in a pall of grey. So, I welcome this opportunity to inject a little colour into my world, and yours, courtesy of time spent in colourful Barcelona early last year.
Thanks for visiting,
Dorothy 🙂

I would like ti live here!!!!!
Would certainly be an interesting experience. I would like to go back and visit for longer than a week. 😉
I love the mosaic work at the Palau de la Musica.
The Palau de la Musica is gorgeous and so colourful. I’d love to hear a concert there. If we’d been in town longer I might have booked tickets for something. Another reason to go back … 😉 … Thanks for the visit and comment. 🙂
Great shots!
Thank you! 🙂
Beautiful pictures! Vibrant colors!
Thank you! 🙂
I love Barcelona. What is the building with the eyes? I missed it but I’d love to see it next time! I googled and found a couple of buildings with these eyes but I can’t find any info!
I think it’s the 5* Ohla Hotel. I googled too and it was difficult to find info on it. … Thanks for stopping by … Dorothy 🙂
Thanks. I see it now. There seem to be eyeballs on 2 facades, the front in stone and another that is colored. How very Barcelona!

Coincidence – I nearly chose some Gaudi for my entry!
I forgot to add images from the interior of the Sagrada Familia. Guadi’s vision was incredible! … Thanks for the comment and visit … Be well, Dorothy 🙂
It is on the list of wishes for visiting. Your pictures make me crave a bit more doing so!
I loved Barcelona, wandering through its old town, hanging out at the Port Olympic, visiting the Sagrada Familia (which I didn’t include here but is nevertheless gorgeous.) We only spent a week and I was unwell for much of it, but walking around I seemed to forget my discomfort and became totally lost in the glorious architecture, antiquity and colour this beautiful city has to offer. I hope to go back again soon, and that you get to check it off your bucket list too. 😉 … Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. … Be well, Dorothy 🙂
HI Dorothy, thank you for your reply! The city seems to have a healing effect! I was there once for half a day, much too short! The Sagrad Familia was still not roofed then. Take care!
I hope you get back. The Sagrada Familia is spectacular!! Here’s a link to a previous Weekly Photo Challenge where I featured this iconic building. https://shakespearesgal2.wordpress.com/2012/12/22/weekly-photo-challenge-surprise-sagrada-familia-barcelona-spain/
Thank you, I will have a look!
Gorgeous Barcelona! Thank you for the pingback so that I could find you! I don’t know either about that building with the eyes?
What I can decipher from my own limited research is that the building with the ceramic eyes appears to be the luxury 5* Ohla Hotel. I wish I’d gone inside it now. Guess I’ll have to go back …;-)

I like the photo of that man walking in between those high built apartments. Are those flats? Anyway, nice editing! 😀
Thanks for your comment. … I imagine they are flats above retail shops. Not really sure … Be well, Dorothy 🙂
Thanks! I wish I could go there someday. 😀
The glass stained window is beautiful.
I fell in love with the stain glass in Barcelona. There’s so much of it! The Sagrada Familia was incredible, and I forgot to include images from its brilliant interior in this post. The stain glass reflections are unbelievably moving … I felt totally embraced by the warmth of colour while I stood there gawking at it. You’ll find a post on it in my Barcelona tag. … Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment … 🙂
So beautiful…especially the first on the left…so unusual
Here is information on Casa Batllo, a portion of which this image depicts. … Thanks for stopping by … Dorothy 🙂 … http://www.casabatllo.es/en/
