Recently I visited a farm that rescues horses from various bad situations. Sadly, neglected, abandoned and abused horses are all too common an occurrence.
This foal was in utero when his mother was rescued at an auction this past spring, just minutes before being loaded onto a slaughterhouse-bound truck.
Many such horses are not so fortunate, especially in the current economic climate.
Happily this little guy’s story has the hope of a happy ending.
Now … time for a nap …

Yeah, it’s tempting. I have a feeling he’ll be okay. The farm is selective about the homes that adopt their horses.
I have the land but no extra cash or I would try !
