The Power of Love

Meet my teenage friend Danielle and her horse, Shadow.

Shadow is a roan three-year-old, maybe thoroughbred, (no one knows for sure yet) who was bound for the slaughterhouse earlier this year when Danielle’s employers at the time, owners of a local horse rescue, purchased him off the meat truck for a couple of hundred dollars.

He was given to Danielle and immediately a bond was formed.

The love of this young woman has saved this horse. And, as horses do, he’s rescuing her right back.

Now, that’s love.
