In our travels we’ve been fortunate to see many beautiful monuments.
Never have I been moved more, perhaps, than on our visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial which documents and commemorates the terrible events that occurred in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.
A tour of the detailed museum, a wander through the beautiful, peaceful gardens and a quiet moment spent by Atomic Dome was a sobering awakening to the cruelty and destruction war can bring to so many in such a short period of time.
I am not prone to political statements but I will say this … to coin a phrase, we need to be the peace we wish to see in the world if we are never to experience, or witness, a repeat of such a devastating event, or anything like unto it.
Peace be unto you …
Thank you for visiting,
Dorothy
