Sh’Borkie

Rusty

There’s all kind of experimentation in the dog breeding world, and while I am not a big fan of this practice I will say that I am partial to this little guy.

Rusty is a Shitzu/Bichon/Yorkie, or a Sh’borkie.

This cutie pie was new to my brother two and a half years ago and gave him a whole new lease on life, for which I’ll always be grateful.

Thanks for visiting,

Dorothy

  1. Very cute! The thing that kills me about these “designer mutts,” is that they are just that, mutts. Yet people are actually paying pure-bred prices for them. To me that is insane.

    • I hear what you’re saying, Jeff. I know so many people with mixed breed pups and see the joy they receive from having them in their lives that as long as they’re happy and the dog is treated well I see no issue. I take issue, however, with puppy mills and people who abuse dogs of any breed, mixed or otherwise. … I happen to enjoy the companionship of pure bred rough collies, which I know is not to everyone’s taste because of all the hair. But all I see is the love and perhaps that, in the end, is the point. At least for me it is … Thanks for stopping by. 😊

      • I totally agree. And I fear that more and more people are breeding these designer mixed breeds because of the demend. And even if the breeding is done resposibly, a mutt is still a mutt and I’ll never be able to wrap my head around paying upwards of $1,000 for one. We’ve had labs for quite some time, paid good money for very well bred dogs and love them. But since I no longer hunt out next dog will certainly be a rescue.

Though the hair may be longer on your collies, you’d be amazed at just how much a lab with their relatively short hair can shed. If a person cant stand dog hair, dont come for a visit. 😊

      • Honestly, I don’t even see the hair anymore, except that our old girl is now losing it in clumps and it gathers in dust bunnies around the house. Even so, that’s why God invented vacuum cleaners … 😉

  2. Rusty is adorable and he’s no mutt. He’s a gentleman with nothing but love to give. He brings joy to this household every single day, and to me that’s worth the price of admission.
