“The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
Peter F. Drucker
The first time I ever saw my husband get excited about a car was on a cold, late December day in 2012 when, after a long, 18-month wait, he finally picked up his Tesla Model S at a Toronto airport warehouse. A shipment of black, red, and white cars lined the enormous space awaiting their new owners and he was like a kid in a candy store with eyes wide and sparkly and a smile that beamed.
He was one of the first people (#99) in Canada to sign up for a Tesla and did so when the car wasn’t even being built yet. For a man who gives whole-heartedly to so many and has, over a life time, denied himself much, it was his first, real personal indulgence. He believes in a zero emissions future and was willing to take the risk on the untried to do his part.
He’s completely happy with his choice … and I’m completely happy for him.
The future is now.
